This week I completed my 900th in studio class at Barre3!! This place has shaped my health & wellness in so many ways. The workout focuses on functional movement - how our bodies move in our everyday lives - as well as building strength, cardio endurance & mindfulness. As an added bonus this community is like no other - Supportive, encouraging, friendly, helpful ...I could go on and on. Having a community of like minded people is a key component of pour health & wellness & is often overlooked when focusing on our health. So come for the workout but return for the community. Yesterday I attended a myofacial release class at

Yesterday I attended a myofacial release class at Rasa Yoga given by my friend & fellow yogi @be.still.and.flow (Agnes Pawlicki). It is a hands on physical therapy technique that targets the facia - the connective tissue surrounding the muscles & connective tissue. In this class we used lacrosse balls to massage ourselves to release tension on the fascia. There are many benefits of this practice.

I've had lower back tension & shoulder stiffness & this practice really helped loosen those places in my body. Have you tried myofacial release on yourself or with a practitioner? On Friday I had the luxury of combining an infrared sauna session with a facial and red light therapy @skinspiredacneclinic. Moving my body is one of my daily non-negotiables.

Moving my body is one of my daily non-negotiables. It doesn't have to be complicated. I took a 10 minute early morning walk through my neighborhood park to get some ☀️ before starting my day & then added in a cycle & strength class at my local Y. Some days, i can only manage to get in a morning or evening walk and that's ok!! It's moving when you can, how you can, for whatever time you can that really matters. What did you do to move your body today? If you haven't moved yet - this is your reminder! You still have time!!
